Castries - March 25, 20009 - Officials from the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and the Port of Palm Beach Florida, signed a Sister Port Agrement on Wednesday March 18, 2009, marking SLASPA's first Sister Port Agreement.

SLASPA, OAS and CICTE collaborate for a Basic Security Training Course

Castries - Wednesday February 27, 2008 - The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA), The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American Committee Against Terrorism (CICTE), have collaborated to provide a Basic Security Training Course for key members in the Aviation sector. The training session began on February 25, 2008 and ran until March 4, 2008.

Castries Seaport Maintenance Staff set World Record

On Wednesday January 23, 2008, the Maintenance Staff at the Castries Seaport achieved a World Record in taking only 7 1/2 hours (inclusive of one hour stoppage due to rain) to change the ropes ont he LHM320 Crane. The previous record set was over 8 hours.

SLASPA Completes Reconfigured Shed

Castries - Thursday November 15, 2007 - On Wednesday October 31, 2007, the reconfiguration of SLASPA's Cargo Shed 6 was completed. It is now fully functional and is now better able to serve customers more efficiently. This reconfiguration combined Cargo Shed 6A and CArgo Shed 6B into a single storage are to facilitate the easier processing of customers.
