SLASPA invests in the Future of St. Lucia's youth
 
Seven well deserving students were recognized by SLASPA at a ceremony held on September 22, 2008 in the Authority's Conference Room. Three of these students were the 2003 Scholarship recipients who all preformed remarkably well at the 2008 CXC Examinations and the remaining four studnets performed extraordinarily well at the Common Entrance Examinations.
 
 
SLASPA implements Safety and Security at the Airports and Seaports
 
The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority has embarked on an International Public Relations Campaign to notify all Port users of the current safety and security measures at the Airports and Seaports.
 
 
Mechanical Technicians recieve Top Class Training from Kalmar
 
A group of employees from the Mechanical Workshop embarked on a three day KALMAR Training Programme, in the Training room of the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority. The team comprosed of two supervisors and six technicians.

SLASPA and Unions Sign an Agreement on Termination Benefits for Staff

Castries - Tuesday June 10, 2008 - After several years of marathon discussions and negotiations, consensus has been reached on the termination benefits for employees of the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA). The negotiations were carried out between representatives of SLASPA, the National Workers Union, the St. Lucia Civil Service Association and the Ports Police Welfare Association. A formal signing of the Agreement took place yesterday, June 09, 2008 at SLASPA's Headquarters.

SLASPA, Customs and Industry Partners Embark on a Project to Implement a Cargo Community System for Saint Lucia

Castries - Thursday May 15, 2008 - The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and the Customs and Excise Department has been working with two French Comanpies CEI.BA and SOGET, to implement a Cargo Community System in St. Lucia. The Project Team met with over fifty local stakeholders at the NIC Conference Center and provided and engaging demonstration of the soon to be implemented Cargo Community System for Saint Lucia.

SLASPA initiates new look for Red Caps at George F L Charles and Hewanorra International Airport

Castries - Wednesday May 7, 2008- The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) held a presentation ceremony int he VIP Lounge at George F L Charles Airport on Truesday May 6, 2008, to officially hand over an initial set of new uniforms to the George F L Charles and Hewanorra International Airport Red Caps Association. The uniforms include a polo shirt, complemented by the signature red caps, both featuring St. Lucia Tourist Board's logo "St. Lucia Simply Beautiful" and the SLASPA logo on the sleeve of the polo shirt.

SLASPA and Local Stakeholders collaborate to improve safety of Sea Bathers and Boaters

Castries - Monday March 3, 2008- The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and the the Ministry of Physical Development, Housing, Urban Renewal and Local Governement in collaboration with various local stakeholders have embarked on a project to create bathing/swimming zones at Rodney Bay as part of efforts to improve the safety of sea bathers and boaters.

SLASPA Moving Towards Market Leadership

Castries - Monday December 10, 2007- The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) unveiled five new products and services to the public last week in a brief ceremony and open day. The Products and Services launched included two newly commissioned Reachstakers, the Redeveloped Website, a 56-page Handbook and Directory, an Upgraded Port Management System, a new Statistical Database and the much awaited Flight Information Display System for the airports.

SLASPA Recognizes Achievements of Scholarship Holders

Castries - Friday November 30, 2007- Three well deserving students were recognized by SLASPA at a ceremony held on November 30, 2007. These students were the 2002 scholarship recipients and children of staff members of SLASPA who all preformed remarkably well at the 2007 CXC Examinations. The students were awarded with plaques of excellence by the Minister for Communication, Works, Transport and Public Utilities in recognition of their outstanding performance at the CXC Examinations.

17 SLASPA Employees Successfully Completed Courses on Basic Seamanship & Coxswain

Castries - Monday November 5, 2007 - The Department of Maritime Affairs at the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) has completed its three week Basic Seamanship Program and two week Coxswain Program which commenced on Monday August 27 at the SLASPA Training Centre.

SLASPA completes Reconfigured Shed

Castries - Thursday November 15, 2007- On Wednesday October 31, 2007 the reconfiguration of SLASPA Cargo Shed 6 was completed. It is fully functional and is now better able to serve customers more efficiently. This reconfiguration combined cargo Shed 6A and cargo Shed 6B into a single storage area to facilitate the easier processing of customers.
